During a recent trip to Kansas City we noticed soybeans still out in the field and several fields being combined yet on Nov 7, so we put together an analysis of quality by weeks in Tables 1, 2 and 3 below. As one might expect, we see averages decreasing over time with a gradual drop in seed quality of incoming samples. Likely this is due to field weathering, once soybeans reach harvest maturity any field weathering will tend to lower seed quality. Another trend we are noting this fall is a significant increase in requests for cold and accelerated aging testing on soybean seed lots.
