The biggest quality issue we are seeing this fall in the laboratory is Fusarium species colonizing dead seeds (Figure 1.) , especially in the smaller grade sizes and to a lesser extent in larger grade sizes. Many of these seeds do show some discoloration, so color sorting may be able to help improve warm and tray cold germination scores. See tables 1, 2 and 3 below.
Table 4 has the percentage of Bt samples passing the testing requirements for 96% purity levels. Some hybrids have been challenged when pollination wasn't ideal with the Bt traits being primarily on the male inbred line.
